Eddy current array (ECA) is a non-destructive testing technology that can electronically drive several eddy current coils. They are placed side by side in the same probe assembly. Every individual eddy current coil in the probe gives a signal related to the phase and amplitude of the structure below it. It is represented graphically as a C-scan image.

The benefit of ECA technology is to allow improved inspection capabilities and significant time savings. It is helpful in various areas such as flaw detection, material identification, measuring material and coating thickness, and determining the heat treatment condition of certain materials.
